DBV: Backstage Pass!
Wrapped around your hour-long
seminar introducing "Desktop Business Video",
IDEA is also offering a half-day training course
for a select few folks in your organization.
Participants in this course
will get a more practical and in-depth understanding of the planning
and execution of a video project.
You'll also get hands-on experience,
by being key members of a video production crew
which will shoot, edit, and produce a DVD of
your organization's DVB Seminar.
We will tape the DBV Seminar being presented at your facility;
then, immediately following the seminar,
we will edit these tapes down into a video record of your program.
To assist with this production,
we will use four to six volunteers as members of our production crew.
Prior experience is not necessary, just a willingness to:
- show up at least 30 minutes before the regular DBV Seminar,
- perform your assigned task during the Seminar, and
- stick around for about 3 hours* after the Seminar
BEFORE THE DBV SEMINAR, we will finalize crew assignments, and give you a "crash course"
on how to perform your particular duties. (Keep your eyes and ears open, and youÕll also learn
about the responsibilities of other key members of a video production crew, too!)
DURING DURING THE SEMINAR, you may be the videographer (camera person),
or the sound manager, or assistant producer, or stage manager,
or maybe even get IN FRONT of the camera!
AFTER THE SEMINAR, while the video editing station loads the tapes, we'll discuss in
greater detail the video production process, using the video being made of this seminar as a
case study.
We'll also give you hints and tips for getting better sound and picture quality, and talk
about your software options when you outgrow the free programs included with your PC.
Then, once the raw video has been loaded into the workstation,
we'll actually edit together the video streams, plus audio, artwork, and music, to
construct a Òfirst cutÓ video of the just-concluded workshop.
You'll even learn
how to turn this video into a DVD, a video CD, or a World-Wide Web page.
But, what's in it for ME?
- Fame and Glory... or at least your name in the production credits
- Your Own DVD (or VHS) copy of the workshop ... FREE
- More In-Depth Training: impress your friends by knowing the
difference between a "Key Grip" and a "Key Light"!
- Practical Experience: if you really want to understand something,
nothing beats hands-on, real-world experience
