Artist: Arlo Guthrie

One of the all time greats is Arlo Guthrie. When he is silly his silliness is unsurpassed; when he is serious you get yourself in such a mood you just wanna lay down and cry. Luckily, he's sillier more often than not. If you make an allusion to his most famous song, the 25-minute epic "Alice's Restaurant Massacree", people will probably get it. Sadly, the same cannot be said for "Motorcycle (Significance of the Pickle) Song", which I wish to allude to just as often. I also love the double CD set he made with Pete Seeger, Precious Friend. If I had no Arlo whatsoever and had to make just one Arlo-related purchase, Precious Friend would be it.
