Artist: Mary Chapin Carpenter

Once, back when I was on Prodigy, the Folk and Country bulletin board areas were divided as to which of them got custody of Mary Chapin Carpenter. Like Nanci Griffith, she's a little bit of both. But hey, who needs labels when one has Mary Chapin Carpenter's voice to keep one warm? My favorite songs she sings are "Shut Up And Kiss Me", "I Feel Lucky", "Passionate Kisses", and "Stones In The Road". Three out of four of those songs got the most airplay on country stations, so I think she's designated country for the time being. Please, though, if you've got prejudices against country music, don't let that stop you from appreciating this fine performer!
