Artist: Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman is one of those rare folky artists who gets played on mainstream radio. However, I do my best to play the songs on her album which they have not played to death on the other stations. For instance, the only song they played off New Beginnings was "Give Me One Reason". I love that song, but I also love, for example, "Smoke & Ashes". And I have older cd's too, so I can temper that with "Baby Can I Hold You" and "Fast Car"... I pity the poor dj's who have narrow little playlists!

Tracy Chapman's record company, Elektra, has an official website for her, but there is also a very good fan site out there. (Warning: the fans use frames.)
